Medals and Awards

General Medals

General Medals aren't really rare exept of the Star of Alderan, mostly cause they can be awarded for everything or combinations of stuff. They can be given for creating webpages or recruiting or gaming or RPGing or everything together.

Star of Alderaan
The Star of Alderaan is per definition the highest medal of the New Republic. It's not the rarest medal in the fleet cause the conditions for others are more special or they have given out just a limited amount of time. But the Star of Alderaan is still the greatest honor in medal form in the New Republican armed forces.

Republican Service Medal
Since the Star of Alderaan isn't given out very often the Republican Service Medal is the most important Republican medal. It's often given out for extraordinary deeds for officers that fullfilled their duties much better then expected.

Golden Cycle
The Golden Cycle is a basic honor medal, given for an excellent service.

Special Honor Medals

Special Honor medals are usually given under special conditions. Some are rare, others are given pretty often. You can't say on special honor medals that one medal is better or higher then another one, cause many officers like to see that different, depending on the personal interests.

Special Issue Medals

Special Issue Medals are given out for a special event. They are not really difficult to get, but officers that have more of them shown a high dedication on the 5th fleet for a long time.

Battle Medals

Battle Medals are the lowest 5th fleet medals. They have their name cause they were given for completing singleplayer battles in TIE Fighter. Squadron Commanders reviewed the Pilot files and gave out medals for that, that's why they can be given out by Squadron Commanders too. Meanwhile Battle Medals are a collection of medals where it is usefull that Squadron Commanders can give them out too.

Medal of Communication
Usually the Medal of Communication is given for participating on something more important and can be given for all kind of activities.

Non 5th Fleet Medals

In the 5th fleet it's usually allowed to wear medals you gained in star wars games or other star wars clubs on your uniform. This sure don't count for rank, position, pilot wings, honor guard, squadron, ship, unit, subgroup or familiar emblems you got in games or other clubs.

Other Honors

Pilot Wings
Pilot wings are a bit different then normal medals. They are given to officers that fight for the 5th fleet against other clubs in gaming tournaments. But unlike to other medals, if you got silver pilot wings, you cannot award them a second time, you can only replace them with golden pilot wings. Golden pilot wings can't be replaced.

Pilot Wings Silver
Pilot Wings Silver are given to an officer that played 10 games in a single Inter-Club tournament.

Pilot Wings Gold
Pilot Wings Gold are given to an officer that played 50 games in a single Inter-Club tournament.

Ribbons (phased out)
Adjutants and Command Assistants in the Imperial 5th got ribbons, to signal that they are staff members. The 5th fleet still used ribbons in the time after they turned to the New Republic, but meanwhile the ribbons aren't given out anymore. Just a few veterans of the early years of the 5th New Republican still wear those ribbons.

Adjutant's Ribbon
The Adjutant's Ribbon was given to officers that served as Adjutant for a specified amount of time.

Command Assistant's Ribbon
The Command Assistant's Ribbon is similar to the Adjutant's Ribbon. It was given to officers that served as Command Assistent for a specified amount of time.

ISC Seal
Well ISC Seals were similar to the HCC Seals, they symbolised membership in a high command unit. ISC seals existed in 3 versions, gold, silver, bronce. The ISC belonged to the background storyline of the 5th fleet since it was created, but implementing it active into the fleet didn't proceed out of the planning stadium. So the ISC Seals are similar to the other unit and position emblems that became awards.
