Warhead Types

Older Missles
The galaxy is pretty big so you may encounter opponents with outdated weapons. The first missle in this category is the dumb fire missle. There are various types of dumb fire missles. They just fly straight into the direction they habe been shot.
There are also heat seeking missles that follow a special heat signature. Cause of the low hit ratio and the slight chance that the missle switches targets most civilized worlds stopped using them anymore.
Concussion Missle
We usually speak of the advanced concussion missle the Republic and the Imperial Remnant uses. It has replaced the concussion missle that have been used during the early years of the Galactic Civil War. Pirates and other criminal elements as well as private pilots may still use the older variant.
The concussion missle is the basic anti fighter missle. It's stong enough to destroy a fighter or at least damage it seriously, while heavy bombers may take more than one hit.
Torpedo
Similar to the missle we speak of the advanced torpedo hier not of the early civil war variant.
The torpedo is slower then the concussion missle and has less maneuverability but the damage is much higher. They have a low chance to hit slower bombers. Shuttle and transports are easier to catch while the torpedos are extremely efficient against freighters and smaller warships like corvettes. Usually torpedos are used against huge capital ships like stardestroyers too cause of the good hit ratio. They are often used against bridge tower or gun turrets of bigger ships too.
Heavy Rocket
The heavy rocket is a pretty strong, pretty slow rocket. It's designed for static space objects: Factories, ship yards, asteroids ... . It's slow enough that even a stardestroyer could outmanuever a heavy rocket but the biggest problems of these rockets are, that gun turrets can easily target them and take them out, nevertheless they are often used to destroy weakened capitol ships or in a massive attack against capitol ship.
Heavy Bomb
Well heaby bombs are designed for ground targets, they have the biggest damage, but can't fly on their own. Some pilots let the bomb drift against big space targets, but the chance to hit is very low. The few situations where a squadron returning from a planet had been forced to attack a capitol ship shown that it's pretty inefficient attacking space targets with heavy bombs.
Mag Puls
The Rebel Alliance developed the Mag Puls short before the battle of Endor. The Mag Puls has a targeting system and a flight performance like a concussion missle, but instead of damaging the target, the Mag Puls disables the weapon systems of an opponent. It can be used against all kinds of targets, while mordern capitol ships and stations are often protected so the missle effects just parts of the ship or the station.
Sniffler
The sniffler has the same flight performance then the concussion missle. The sensors are more complex then the sensors of the concussion missle so they need more space, that decreases the damage of the missle. The Sniffler follows the specific particle beam every engine leaves behind. The Fallen designed the Sniffler to attack cloaked fighters. The missle can also target non cloaked ships, but cause of the low damage it's more a waste of ammunition using it against bigger targets.
